How to Use dq0 (Park) Transformations in Oscilloscopes for Rotor-reference Frame Motor Control Analysis

oin Teledyne LeCroy as we define and explain the math behind a dq0 (Park) transformation of a magnetically rotating three-phase power system into a stationary two-vector system referenced to the shaft of the motor. This makes it easy to understand the instantaneous impact of control system changes to the motor’s rotor speed and torque delivery and is the foundation of Vector Field-oriented Control (FOC) algorithms. A lesser transformation may also be used with any 3-phase power system. We’ll demonstrate the capability using an oscilloscope that is capturing and calculating all of the signals.
